Are Fundraisers My Only Option After a Dirt Bike or Golf Cart Crash in Georgia?

GolfCartsLot

The lack of insurance coverage often leads to limited legal options after dirt bike and golf cart crashes in Georgia, but lawsuits are still technically possible. While fundraisers can be incredibly successful under the right circumstances, lawsuits can provide much more reliable compensation for missed earnings, medical bills, and many other damages.

Georgia Communities Try Fundraising Efforts After Serious Crashes

Two communities in Georgia were forced to raise money through fundraising after serious crashes. On August 30th, 2026, WSB-TV reported that a man had suffered serious injuries after a dirt bike crash in Paulding County. The man apparently “hit a rut” before fishtailing and flying off his bike over the handlebars.

The collision threw the victim 15 feet, and he suffered various traumatic injuries. Fortunately, an air ambulance was able to rush him to a nearby hospital, where he is still receiving treatment as of this writing. His injuries include intracranial hemorrhages in two separate areas of his brain, a broken collarbone, and a broken shoulder blade. His brain injuries were so severe that doctors were forced to drill a hole in his cranium to relieve pressure.

The family is not yet sure how the man’s recovery process will go. However, it seems clear that they cannot rely on insurance or any other source of compensation, as they are already asking their community to contribute to fundraising efforts. This medical care may be ruinously expensive, especially with regard to the air ambulance.

Community Creates GoFundMe Page after Five Teens Injured in Golf Cart Crash

Also on August 30th, News Channel 9 reported that the community of Chickamauga was rallying behind five teens injured in a severe golf cart accident. The teen behind the wheel lost control for unspecified reasons while going around a turn, and the cart overturned.

All five teens suffered various injuries, and one had to receive brain surgery after a serious knock to the head. Someone close to the child started a GoFundMe page, which has raised about $14,000 as of this writing. The cost of brain surgery is likely to go far beyond this amount.

Is GoFundMe My Only Option After an Accident?

These communities are probably relying on fundraising because insurance does not cover the golf cart accident and the dirt bike crash. If you were involved in a similar crash, you should still speak with a lawyer about your legal options. Even though standard auto insurance may not apply, legal strategies may still be possible.

Can a Golf Cart Accident Lawyer in Georgia Help Me?

A uninsured  motorist accident lawyer in Georgia may be able to help, especially if you want to confirm whether legal action is possible before you commit to only fundraising efforts.
